Call for Projects 2025

Can a film change the world and be a box office hit at the same time? The answer is a resounding yes! In fact, history has shown that films with a strong impact often achieve financial success.

Documentary Films as Catalysts for Social Change

In an age where disinformation blurs the lines of truth, documentary films stand as powerful beacons of clarity. They unravel complexity, provoke critical thought, and ignite conversations that inspire societal transformation. With this in mind, The Good Media Lab and The Good Media Pitch aim to amplify the impact of documentary storytelling in Germany, positioning these formats as tools for meaningful change.

At its core, The Good Media Lab is a space for collaboration and strategic thinking. From March 6 to 8, selected projects will work with industry experts to craft impact strategies that extend far beyond the screen. These three days lay the foundation for partnerships with organizations and campaign specialists, ensuring that the stories told can resonate deeply with audiences and spark action.

The journey continues at the Good Media Pitch on June 12, where the projects step into the spotlight to present their ideas to potential partners from media, politics, business, and civil society. But this isn’t just a pitch—it’s a meeting ground for ideas and resources, designed to foster lasting collaborations. In accompanying braintrust sessions, teams and partners refine their strategies and take the first steps toward implementation.

Adding further momentum, participants can apply for start-up funding through the Good Media Fund, to be awarded in June. A panel of experts will evaluate submissions for feasibility and alignment with program goals, directing resources to the most promising projects.

The Good Media Lab and The Good Media Pitch are more than initiatives—they are platforms for storytellers who believe in the transformative power of their craft. By forging connections, providing resources, and pushing the boundaries of documentary filmmaking, these programs turn stories into movements and films into agents of change.
